Edward provides board level counsel to some of Europe’s leading corporates on preparing for financial calendar events, communicating strategy and managing media and investor relations as well as on issues arising such as corporate governance, handling crises, the arrival of a new chief executive or dealing with a campaign by activist shareholders. He has experience of supporting litigation and international asset recovery processes, working closely with legal teams and principals to ensure their needs are met in way that is compatible with their wider corporate communications objectives. Edward joined Finsbury in 2006 from the Business desk of the Sunday Telegraph where he was the Companies Editor. He has worked on numerous high-profile international transactions including the IPOs of Aer Lingus, TDC, Vallar and Vallares, the acquisitions of Bumi and Genel, the take private of Essar Energy, the sale of Alliance Boots and the merger of Banca Intesa with Sanpaolo IMI in Italy. A native English speaker, Edward studied philosophy at the University of Liverpool and speaks Italian. He has post graduate qualifications in both Finance and Journalism.
