Hugo is a Principal in Finsbury’s Political & Regulatory team where he has advised some of the largest companies operating in the UK on political strategy, including for BAA, Bombardier, FirstGroup, Experian, easyJet, Daily Mail and General Trust and British Gas. Projects at Finsbury have included developing and implementing a new public affairs strategy at a FTSE 50 international company, the award-winning Campaign for Crossrail and advising Volkswagen UK following the 2015 diesel emissions scandal and AstraZeneca in its successful defence against Pfizer’s £68bn hostile approach. Hugo has also worked for the Conservative Party for the 2016 EU referendum, 2016 London Mayoral and 2015 election campaigns, the latter where he managed strategic campaign activity for the Prime Minister and Chancellor in the Party’s key target seats. Earlier in his career he worked in the UK Houses of Parliament for the former Minister of State for Defence, Rt Hon Lord Robathan, and also served as a School Governor in White City.
