John joined Finsbury’s Political and Regulatory Practice in 2006, following six years working as senior aide to a Labour Party Member of Parliament. John specialises in advising clients operating in the financial services, energy, technology and leisure sectors, and on the public affairs aspects of competition policy, where he has advised on a wide range of high-profile M&A transactions under EU regulatory jurisdiction. Along with his background in UK and EU politics, John has also worked on election campaigns for the Democrats in the US at both Presidential and Congressional level. Educated at the University of Leeds, John holds a degree in History and a Masters degree in International Political Economy.
