Kal Goldberg is a Partner at Finsbury, and leads the firm’s U.S. Capital Markets and Transactions Practice. He advises managements and boards on communications strategies across a wide variety of domestic and cross-border M&A, IPO, restructuring, shareholder activism, litigation and crisis situations. Recent representations include Tribune Media Company in its acquisition by Sinclair Broadcasting Group; Praxair, Inc. in its merger with Linde AG; SABMiller in its merger with AB InBev; Ball Corporation in its merger with Rexam plc and Alliance Boots in its “Step Two” merger with Walgreens. Other engagements include advising American Suzuki Motor Corporation in its U.S. restructuring and NYMEX, FXall and RiskMetrics on their IPOs. Transactions led by Kal have received wide industry recognition, including “Deal of the Year” from M&A Advisor and “IPO of the Year” from IR Magazine. Kal was previously a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s strategic communications segment. Prior to FTI, Kal was an investment banker with Avalon Group and was previously a senior member of Hill & Knowlton’s corporate and financial practice. Kal holds an MBA in finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
