Deborah Hayden joins Finsbury as a Managing Director in Tokyo
Veteran Communications Professional Joins Tokyo Team to Expand Offering
Tokyo/New York, November 14, 2019 — Finsbury, a global leader in strategic communications and trusted adviser to many of the world’s most successful companies, announced today that Deborah Hayden has joined the firm as Managing Director in its Tokyo office.
Deborah is a widely recognized expert on communications issues in Japan and Asia, who has spent more than 30 years providing senior counsel to both Japanese companies conducting business in global markets and international companies operating in Japan. She has advised on a range of practice areas including M&A and investor relations, corporate and reputation management, crisis and issues handling, across a diverse range of industries.

Deborah joins Finsbury from Edelman Japan, where she was responsible for Financial, M&A and Capital Markets Communications. Prior to joining Edelman, Deborah was Managing Partner at Kreab Gavin Anderson, a firm she was associated with since 1988. Deborah is a vice-chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan’s Alternative Investment and Women in Business Committees, she is a senior advisor to the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise Beachhead Committee which advises companies on Japan market entry, and she serves as a community leader in her local community in Tokyo. She is a graduate of New Zealand’s Otago University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and holds diplomas from Osaka University of Foreign Studies and Osaka University.
