Bright Lines and Covid-19
If you want to influence people to change their behaviour, make it easy for them to understand. Owain Service, Behavioural Science Specialist and Senior Consultant at Finsbury talks about the use of bright lines – simple instructions like ‘Stay At Home’ – to make people take action.
Owain is the former Deputy Director of the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, and the former Managing Director and co-founder of the Behavioural Insights Team. He is also an honorary Professor of Behavioural Science at Warwick University and a Visiting Professor of Politics at Sheffield University. His co-authored book, Think Small, focuses on how all of us can use findings from behavioural science research to achieve goals in our lives. His main interest now is in how corporates and technology companies can effect behavioural change.
