Kito Huggins Joins Finsbury as Managing Director
Will Help Drive the Firm’s Growing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Practice
New York, NY, November 18, 2020: Finsbury, the global strategic communications consultancy and trusted advisor to many of the world’s most successful companies, today announced that Kito Huggins has joined the company as a Managing Director in New York City.
Kito will help drive the firm’s growing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) communications practice. He brings two decades of experience in the legal, financial services and consulting industries, where he has helped companies build effective DEI strategies and training programs. A former practicing attorney, he will also use his experience in communications, marketing and the law to counsel clients in areas including employee communications, crisis and litigation support and reputation management.
Paul Holmes, CEO, North America, said: “Kito brings a uniquely valuable perspective to our DEI communications work through his extensive in-house and consulting experience, and will provide strong support to our clients as they respond to stakeholder expectations that they will take meaningful action to address inequity in the workplace and their communities. He is an outstanding addition to our team at an exciting time in our growth, both in the United States and globally.”
Kito Huggins, Managing Director, said: “I am excited to join Finsbury at this pivotal moment. In these challenging times, it’s never been more crucial for organizations to demonstrate and communicate the values of compassion, inclusivity and community. I look forward to working with my new colleagues – at Finsbury now, and at Finsbury Glover Hering next year – to support our clients as they work with all of their stakeholders to make progress with this important work.”
Finsbury will merge with its strategic partners The Glover Park Group (GPG) and Hering Schuppener in early 2021 to create the preeminent global strategic communications and public affairs consultancy. The new firm, Finsbury Glover Hering, will combine the complementary strengths of three of the world’s most respected advisory firms into a single, global enterprise of 700 professionals.
Kito joins Finsbury from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he was the Director, Executive Administration, and held an earlier role as the firm’s Global Diversity and Social Responsibility Manager. He was previously a diversity and inclusion strategist for The FutureWork Institute, a management consulting firm. Kito began his career as a Litigation Associate at Shearman and Sterling LLP and has also worked at Lehman Brothers and MetLife. He is a trustee of his alma mater, Vanderbilt University, and board chair of The New York City Anti-Violence Project, a non-profit that offers legal, financial and counseling services to LGBTQ+ families and survivors of violence. He also serves as an advisor to Kanarys, Inc., a Black-owned start-up that helps employers build more inclusive workplaces.
Finsbury is a global leader in strategic communications and a trusted adviser to many of the world’s most successful companies. The company has managed some of the most complex, high-profile communications challenges and crises of the last three decades, including some of the largest international M&A transactions, IPOs and other capital raisings, proxy fights, corporate restructurings, and public affairs policy campaigns, as well as major litigation and government investigations.
