Ginny Wilmerding is a Partner in Finsbury’s Hong Kong office, working across Greater China and Asia. Ginny counsels senior executives and boards in Asia and the U.S. on critical issues and complex financial situations, including IPOs and M&A, governance and activism, geopolitical challenges, reputation management, ESG and investor engagement.
Before joining Finsbury, Ginny was a partner with Brunswick Group, and during nearly 11 years with the firm helped to grow the Asian business and team more than five-fold. She was Brunswick’s TMT sector lead for the Asia region and advised on marqueetransactions for Alibaba and Ant Group, as well as for other e-commerce, AI, fintech, hardware and media clients. She led a global team that designed and launched Brunswick’s governance and ESG practice. Ginny has also advised leading SOEs, PE firms and family businesses such as CITIC, Bain Capital and Swire.Ginny regularly publishes articles on current affairs and published a business advice book for women in 2006 (Wiley). She is a founding steering committee member of the 30% Club Hong Kong and has been a Board Trustee of Princeton in Asia since 1997, now chairing the Asia Advisory Council and serving on PiA’s executive, nominating and development committees. Other corporate experience includes business development roles for Hutchison Whampoa and AT&T in Hong Kong and Shanghai and heading corporate affairs for US private equity-backed Internet services companies in Boston. Ginny holds a BA in East Asian Studies from Princeton University, and speaks and reads Chinese.
